Autumnal activities to get back to nature
As the clocks go back and we move through Autumn, there can be valid excuses for staying inside in the warm and dry, but with there being a wide range of physical and mental health benefits from spending time outside we thought we’d help give you some ideas of how to get back to nature, even when the sofa is calling……..
Alfresco dining
Yes, you read that right and no we aren’t joking.
Get those comfy sweatshirts and cosy blankets out for an autumn picnic.
There’s something so exciting about spreading out a picnic mat and unpacking a hearty homemade fest. From warming soups, flasks of tea, and yummy sweet treats. Eating outside is an easy way to enjoy the fresh air and soak up some family autumnal sunshine.
Head to the beach
Yes, you read that right as well!
There’s nothing like a blustery day walking on the beach to blow away the cobwebs and make you feel alive.
Get those steps in and earn that scrummy hot chocolate for afterward.
| Release your inner child and for the third time, yes you read that one right too! Find those puddles, squelch in the mud and embrace the great British countryside whatever the weather. What colours can you see, what smells can you smell, what sounds can you hear? Stop and take a few minutes. And if you plan your walk well, you could make it involve a pub stop mid-route? |
